Aircraft Engineers & Airfield Operations
Bespoke radiotelephony training and FRTOL certification for ground-based aviation personnel.
Aircraft Engineers
Engineers requiring the FRTOL can attend a radiotelephony course tailored to their company’s requirements. Planespeak can issue a certificate of competency to confirm attendance and that the required standard has been met. The UK CAA Flight Radiotelephony Licence (VHF, and HF if required) will be issued subject to successful results in the written and practical examinations.
Bespoke FRTOL courses are available for airlines, aircraft operators, training establishments, maintenance facilities, and individuals.
Zero to FRTOL - Engineers
- Lifetime access to SRG1171 compliant CBT platform for pre-course study and post-course skill fade management
- Two-day company-specific and CAP413 compliant Radiotelephony Masterclass
- Delivered in person near Birmingham or on-site at your location (subject to approval)

Tug & Airfield Drivers
Although there is no legal requirement for tug and airfield drivers to hold the UK FRTOL licence, Planespeak offer a bespoke radiotelephony training package for airport operators. This can be delivered on-site for airport staff who are required to operate an aeronautical radio to communicate with ATC.
“As a group we found Planespeak’s FRTOL course very good and pitched at the right level for the delegates. The instructor’s knowledge and willingness to adapt the training to suit our organisation was key to effective learning. Planespeak have a very good understanding of how the organisation works and we’ll certainly be using his services again in future.”
